About Steve

Hey. I’m Steve (Hey), an award-winning Creative Director working in Sydney, Australia and originally from Yorkshire. I’m currently partnered with Simon Koay at DDB Sydney.

Before that I worked at JWT/WT Sydney where I created multiple award-winning campaigns for KitKat that were often adopted globally, made news on 6 continents with work for Parkinson's NSW, created the first ever sun-activated kid's book, sold razors with a virtual catwalk, and made pitch-winning fire safety campaigns for both NSW and Victoria.

I was previously Group Head on Google at The Hallway, winning the Grand Prix at ADMA for my 'Ask the Google app' campaign, as well as working on Tourism Queensland, AFM and Australian Cherries. In 3 years I helped the agency grow to become Campaign Asia and B&T's Independent Agency of the Year.

I also had stints at SapientNitro, DDB and Naked and, before moving to Australia, I worked in London and created the award-winning 'Wallace & Gromit's World of Cracking Ideas' exhibition. It ran for 12 months at the Science Museum before being re-homed by museums in Glasgow, Sydney, Melbourne and Tokyo.

My work has featured in The Guardian, Independent, Daily Mail, Contagious, Buzzfeed, LadBible, Vice, Mashable, Yahoo, HuffPost, CNN and Sunrise.

I’ve won pitches for Google, FTX, Nikon, Edgewell, Vodafone and the Australian Government, tutored 4 years of AWARD School, and judged at a few award shows.
